I do not understand how one can download the whole folder of photos that were uploaded. Please help! Screen caps would be of assistance.

The user who shares the files does not have the Download All option. The uploader can share all files with other users using the share link, email or through Social Media. 

The receiver sees the Download All option instead of share links. An easy way to see Download All files option is to open the share link in a different browser.
